Dear All,

RCUK has launched a call for Science Bridges proposals:  awards for UK links at institutional level with the USA, China and India.   The purpose of the scheme is to raise the impact and profile of collaborative activity between the UK and these 3 countries and to facilitate innovation from existing research.

Projects from across the full spectrum of Research Councils' remits will be eligible.  To be eligible, research collaborations should already exist between the applicant institution(s) in the UK and at least one of the named partner research institutions in the other country.

Financial support in the region of £0.5M - £1.5M over three years will be available for each award (covering the period 2008-9 to 2010-11).  No more than four awards will be made with each country.

The details of eligibility and the process to be used can be obtained via the following link: http://www.rcuk.ac.uk/international/sciencebridges.htm.  Please note that the closing date for receipt of outlines is 13 May 2008.  Funding decisions will be made by end of November 2008.

If you have any queries, please contact Ros Rouse, RCUK, ros.rouse@rcuk.ac.uk
